Oprah Winfrey is an American media executive, actress, talk show host, television producer and philanthropist.
She started Oprah's Book Club in 1996, selecting a new book, usually a novel, for viewers to read and discuss each month. It started as a book discussion club segment of the American talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show. She has recently also partnered with Apple to bring her book club to Apple TV+.
According to her, "...the only thing more thrilling than being captivated by a brilliant book is being able to share it." She's also said, "For the price of a book, you get to explore the world, be intrigued by new people, be fascinated by new ideas, be dazzled, held in suspense, thrilled."
